SUMMARY:Weather and Climate Extremes and their Predictability CAFE Final Conference
DESCRIPTION:Este evento se celebrará del 27 al 29 de Septiembre del 2022 en Barcelona\, España. \nEl proyecto Climate Advanced Forecasting of sub-seasonal Extremes (CAFE) se complace en anunciar la próxima Conferencia Final de CAFE en el Aula Magna\, Casa Convalescencia\, Hospital de Sant Pau. \nLas olas de calor\, las olas de frío\, las tormentas tropicales y extratropicales\, las inundaciones y otros fenómenos climáticos extremos tienen un enorme impacto humano y económico. Entender los procesos que influyen en estos eventos en la escala temporal subestacional y contribuir a su previsión son los principales objetivos del proyecto CAFE de la Red de Formación Innovadora Marie S. Curie. \nEn la conferencia final de CAFE\, científicos de diferentes disciplinas que trabajan en la previsión y los fenómenos extremos (con énfasis en la escala temporal subestacional) debatirán los problemas abiertos y los avances más recientes en este campo\, y entrarán en contacto con las partes interesadas (servicios meteorológicos/climáticos\, consultores de análisis de riesgos\, compañías de seguros\, usuarios finales…) para conocer sus necesidades e intercambiar conocimientos relevantes. \nEstá previsto que la conferencia sea un evento de debate y creación de redes en persona\, pero también es posible la asistencia en línea para el público académico. \nCAFE-FINAL-CONFERENCE-2022-Documento-A3 \nRegistro \nMás información.

DESCRIPTION:In the modern economic environment\, competitiveness relies upon the development of innovative products. Knowledge combined with the right technological tools is a key element in the process of developing innovative products & services. Knowledge of such tools exists in both industrial bodies (ΙCΤ & other industries) as well as in research organizations (Universities & Research Centres). \nTherefore\, their collaboration is important towards developing innovative products with an international perspective. SUMMARY:Concurso de Modelización Matemática del IMI (CMM-IMI)
DESCRIPTION:El Concurso de Modelización Matemática (CMM) del Instituto de Matemática Interdisciplinar (IMI) nació el año 2018 con la intención de crecer año a año\, tomando como modelo el “Mathematical Contest in Modeling (MCM)” realizado en Estados Unidos. En el MCM participan anualmente del orden de 10.000 equipos de alrededor de 1000 instituciones educativas diferentes. \nEl CMM-IMI va dirigido a alumnos universitarios\, no necesariamente matemáticos. Al comenzar el concurso se hace público un problema\, basado en un problema real\, y los alumnos disponen de varios días para modelizar matemáticamente el problema y\, a través del modelo que hayan creado\, proponer una solución. El Comité Evaluador\, compuesto de varios comités delegados (uno en cada universidad participante) y un comité central\, evalúa las distintas soluciones propuestas y otorga los premios. \nMAS INFORMACION CMM-IMI
